Global Warming and Energy Conservation have become major issues of debate over the last 5 years. However Control System companies have been at the forefront of conserving energy for most of the 20th Century and will continue to play a major part in the years to come. Basingstoke Control Systems have always taken the lead in advising clients on how best to save energy and very often the solutions are simple. Some examples. * Switch off Boilers that are not required during the Summer period and conversely switch off Chillers that are not required during the Winter. Often 2 Chillers and 2 Boilers are utilised throughout the year for no sensible reason. * Use tried and tested control system methods for radiator heating such as Compensated Heating and turning off the Compesated Heating Pumps when the temperatures outside exceeds say 14oC. Use Boiler Sequence control for controlling multiple boilers from a sensor in the return water. * On Air conditioning plants utilise ‘Enthalpy’ control on dampers. This system positions dampers in the most economic way to recover energy comparing outside energy content with return air energy content.
The current debate falls into two categories: Energy Conservation: Basingstoke Control Systems advocates continuing monitoring and innovative methods of saving energy using control systems. Global Warming: Basingstoke Control Systems does not subscribe to the theory of Global warming due to carbon emissions.
On all the above issues Basingstoke Control Systems will be be at the forefront of learning and advising clients through careful selection of controls to save energy.
